For over a year now, we’ve been monitoring the fundraising activities of impact-focused funds and publishing an overview of new ones on our Impact Shakers LinkedIn page every 2 weeks.

In this article, we assembled the ones that had a closing in 2022, offering an easy-to-scroll format, with important data points like ‘investment stage and geographical focus’ that can help impact startups find well suited investors. This information is intended to help founders but clearly, it cannot replace thorough research and due diligence.

Indico Capital Partners (PT)

Indico Capital Partners is an independent venture capital firm in Portugal investing in global technology companies. They announced the launch of its first climate action fund — the Indico Blue Fund — a €50 million, fully private capital venture and growth equity fund targeting Portuguese Blue Economy startups and SMEs. The Fund will invest from pre-seed to growth stages in innovative, sustainable solutions that have a positive, measurable contribution towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG 14 — Life underwater.

The Dutch impact investor Polestar Capital announced the launch of the biggest circular economy fund in Europe. The fund, called the Polestar Capital Circular Debt Fund (PCDF), has opened at €100 million and expects to grow to €400 million within a year.

The Growth Impact Fund is for organisations that are focused on tackling inequality for marginalised people in the UK through the provision of products, services, training or employment. They announced the launch of its new fund with £10m already committed by investors towards the £25m target fund size. The fund focuses on tackling inequality and promoting racial justice in the UK. It will target companies working on consumer business, employment and training, education and learning, and health and social care.
